How to lose 20 lbs and market effectively

I was chatting with a friend of my wife's today and she asked how I could possibly eat as much as I do without putting on weight. She says she watches what she eats and still puts on weight. She was eating a ham and cheese sandwich and drinking a milkshake when she told me this.

Today is a normal kind of day for me. I got up at 7 a.m and went for a 40km bike ride. At lunch time I swam a kilometre. Tonight at about 10 p.m I'll be doing a 10km run.

Tomorrow is a weight session for an hour, another 1 km swim and probably another run. I don't say this to brag, but to illustrate a point (I'm getting there!).

My wife's friend admits she hasn't really done any exercise for 5 years. She's far too busy.

I was talking with a client about an hour after talking with my wife's friend. He asked me if the marketing plan I had developed for him would work. Let's say my client takes the 200 radio spots we recommended. And the newspaper advertisments running at the same time. And the new Point of Sale material distributed to every one of his shops. And he also completes the direct mail campaign to the highly targeted database we have obtained.

Will his marketing plan work?

You betcha!

Every action has a consequence. My wife's friend eats lots and doesn't ever exercise. The consequence for that is that she has more fat than she wants.

If my client implements those 4 basic strategies I suggested, he will get more customers. Without a doubt. If he doesn't market he won't get as many new customers as he could.

Take action. The consequences for action won't come as any great surprise.
