Why I've Changed The Title Of My Web Pages
Why I've Changed The Title Of My Web PagesTake a look at the top of this page - that's where it says "Want to learn from a true expert - Welcome to Tailored Consulting".

I've just changed the title to that - previously it was "web marketing media from Tailored Consulting".
I changed the title so I could test something - you see, a lot of people find this web site via search engines. And the first line they see is the title.
I'm thinking that if I start with a question "Want to learn from a true expert" then I'll get more people identifying with that and more clicks. Same amount of people see the title, more click on it and visit.
And if it works on this web site it will work on our client's web sites. Which will mean more visitors, more sales and more profit.
No Question (Mark) About It!
And you might have noticed I didn't put a question mark at the end of my question.
I did that on purpose too. I did that because a search engine guy I respect told me you'll get more clicks without a "?" in the title. Crazy, but true.
That might mean 5 extra clicks per day on a web site. Which might mean one extra sale. Which, if you are like any of our resort clients, might mean a $5,000 sale.
And we're about results, not about looking good (that's what us ugly guys say anyway!).
I'll let you know how we get on.
Cheers
Brendon
