What If MSN Penalises Google Sites?
What If MSN Penalises Google Sites?I have just checked the stats of some web sites that I have Google AdSense on. One little site makes a few $ per day.
Those few dollars per day come almost exclusively from people searching on MSN for a product I mention on the web site.
What If................
MSN is Google competitors. Google makes a huge % of its income from AdWords. What if MSN said, "Okay, lets penalise/ban every site from our search results that has Google AdWords/AdSense on it."
That could wipe out a big % (I"d guess 15%) of Google income instantly.
I think that would make Google (and lots of publishers like me) cry.
Cheers

Likely a combination of both.

But I'm sure a solid % would be spammy sites set up just for Google Adsense.
It would be a bit of a balancing act like you say.

We can add a new page and they (search engines) all pick the page up in a day or two and some pages have only Google Ads and no content.
This is not spamming, we are trying to sell advertising space and we have to show our prospectives they will be found in Google searches!
We have other sites that we try to follow a similar formula - fresh pages, good content, lots of links etc etc and never get a ranking. The day I eventually work it out, Google will go and move the goal posts again!
