Our First Video Podcast
Our First Video PodcastWe have a regular podcast over at TailoredPodcast.com. On Friday we did a video of us (Tina and I) doing the show - it's means the podcast is unedited.
Judging a Book By Its Cover
- Did you know that tall people are seen as more successful than short people?
- Or that men who wear short sleeve shirts to work are seen as losers?
- Or that good looking people get promoted more?
We talk about how appearances affect peoples’ perceptions, and why your appearance is important - check it out here.
Hope you enjoy it.Cheers
Brendon

From the standpoint of being useful to your target audience, I am doubtful. As I recently posted on the Tailored Podcast site, I think a 20/30 minute 'how we do things' audio file is very useful ... I stick them on CD's and listen to fill the otherwise dead time driving to an from clients and such. Video 'casts are slightly less useful for 'multi-tasking' ... but there's little doubt that video is hot.
From a business building standpoint I was disappointed that the broadcast was somewhat thrown together ... especially with time taken up by apologies about appearance and lack of business dress, etc.
Brendon, one of your primary points about building business, on or off line has always been 'look and act the part'. This effort was not up to the standards you mention in, for example, the Web design Business Kit which has a prominent add right below the video ... mixed marketing message I would say.
In today's world those desktop mics and 1940's headsets have got to go ... one point that has to be thought through before making the video 'jump' ... what works very well for audio-only broadcasts won't do at all in today's sophisticated video world.
Videoing the podcast is part of our desire to try new things and move our skillset along.
Dave, we need to do some more research into what people want from the podcast in terms of content and length.
Thanks again.
