Do You Have Something To Hide
Do You Have Something To Hide? I stumbled across an excellent interview yesterday related to a very specific niche we have a new client in.
It had some terrific takeaways and provided brilliant information that will be extremely useful to us in developing the web site we're doing.
I emailed the client the interview straight away.
Last week we had this same client in for a meeting. We showed her a couple of excellent sites we had 'benchmarked' against (that means we used their ideas!) - and said "We'll use this technique these guys have done for these reasons....."
Some Would Keep That Information To Themselves
I've worked with some web developers who would keep those 2 pieces of information to themselves. After all, the interview gave great information we could have used to make ourselves look good.
Same with the great ideas on the other web sites.
And it's important to look good in front of clients.
- But it's more important to provide as much value as possible.
- It's more important to be as transparent as possible.
- It's more important to give the client as many tools for success as possible.
Cheers
Brendon
