Us Tech Types....We're Smart!

Not wanting to point the finger at anyone or perpetuate stereotypes, but I know a person who was trying to listen to some audio on this site.

This web professional spends 10 hours a day in front of a computer and is highly respected as one of Belfast's best web designers.

He sent me this: "It's all complete silence to me.....perhaps it's something my end?"

He finally heard it an hour later.....when he turned his speakers on.
"I can't hear the sound for some reason."

=================================

Another web guy, who I won't name, in our office also spends a lot of time on the computer.

The phone rang here today.

He answered it.......by picking up his mouse, placing it against his ear and saying "Morning, Tailored Consulting, xxxxxx speaking."

Idiot.

Cheers

Brendon

Oh I got a real chuckle out of this one, Brendon. When I worke din Japan one of the military fellow sin our outfit was a major who had a pretty important job. He was also a bit of a technology nut, with a belt festooned with a walky-talky, two cell phones, two pagers (one each for the military network plus one each for the Japanese commercial networks), a remote opener for a special military security gate and probably a couple other battery powered "lumps" that I don't recall. We all kidded him insesantly about his paraphernalia and he would often respond, perhaps a bit too self-importantly, that when you had a "key and essential position" you had to be properly equipped.

One night at a party though, his wife told the true tale on him. Seems one or the other of his devices sounded off in the middle of the night, he swiftly grabbed it up from the beside table and woke his wife because he was loudly hollering into the "thing' and complaining that it wouldn't connect and stop ringing. "Andy", she murmured sleepily, "You're trying to talk into the TV remote". LoL
Oh, how the mighty fall!
Lol! Oh I did go red! Yes I was that soldier.

Speaking of Irish humour, I think it has matured a lot in recent years. So much so that I'm happy to admit that I may be a tad stupid at times, but at least I'm not attractive!

On a serious note though, the one thing I've learnt from reading Brendon's blog is that he never writes anything without good reason and sometimes with a cleverly concealed agenda. Readers should always ask themselves "Who is meant to gain from that?"

I'm guessing this post is no different and say many thanks again to Brendon from Belfast's best web designer!
