One of the big businesses where I am (Gold Coast, Australia) is management rights.

Management rights is where you buy the rights to manage a property - usually a resort. You make your money various ways:

• salary,
• letting commissions received,
• re let fees,
• cleaning of the apartments,
• supply of linen,
• PABX (phone) hire,
• tour sales,
• equipment hire,
• and more.

The manager has to market the resort and keep it all humming along nicely. Which is all usually okay, until that huge Bus Tour that has booked 210 bed nights cancels at the last minute!
