One Great Reason To Get Decent Search Engine Rankings

One of our clients is about to have her money saving tips web site featured in a major newspaper (Sydney Morning Herald).

Her site was found by the reporter doing a Google search.

Now that's powerful.

Cheers

Absolutely, Brendon. More people who want to advance their business should think about how people find them. My wife who has her own cooking blog (www.unofficialcook.com) isn't really blogging for money ... but she does run ads and she does enjoy meeting people from all 'round the world. She was just interviewed by a reporter for a good-size US newspaper yesterday ... why did the reporter pick a "one-woman" blog 8,000 miles from "home"? Becuase my wife has the blog set up with using basic search engine principles and ... although much of the traffic comes from Google Image Search ... and "all those picture downloads eat up bandwidth, OMG" as the "scarcity folks" would say, ... the pictures are another way people find her. It's how the reporter found her ... the reporter was assigned to write about Philippine food, saw some of Mita's pictures in Google and the search was over ... article written, free publicity on the way, is it time for lunch yet?

You know the site is hosted on a little multi-site virtual server I rent for the "huge" sum of #110USD per year and the cost of hosting or not hosting all those quality photos isn't even measurable ... I'm paying for the server and bandwidth anyway.

My advice is, be economical but don't be "cheap" ... if people don't find you, what's the point of even having a site?
