How To Rank High In Search Engines - By Writing Complete Rubbish
SEONoobs has a SEO Help and Tools web site and had the audacity (!) to suggest a simple improvement to a well-known bloggers site and got a bit of grief from the blogger. The grumpy blogger - Shoemoney - basically just mouths off with
great stuff, good stuff and complete rubbish in an effort to create controversy and get posts like this one written and linked to him (gives him more readers you see). But, as is sometimes the case, he's writing complete rubbish.
- Title tags are important for helping to achieve higher search engine rankings.
- Search engine optimization is a very important part of any web site's ongoing marketing strategy.
Shoemoney suggests building such a great site that others will want to link to it (that helps increase your rankings within search engines) - true.
That should be the goal for each and every web site.
But working on your site to make it as easy as possible for search engines to find you and figure out what your site is about is just as important.
Doing that can make a tremendous difference to your web site's success.
It's a great example of how 1 guy (Shoemoney) uses controversy to increase his brand awareness and his success - just like young Corey below.
Cheers

I saw Shoemoney's post yesterday and I wrote a comment on his blog. Honestly, I think he was more cheesed off at the lack of effort and grace in the email that this so called "SEO Expert" put in to his message. Sure, we all know the title is the most important part of a Web site (in terms of SEO), but Shoemoney will get these emails hundreds of times a week (I get my fair share too).
I dunno. I think it was a slight insult to Shoe's intelligence and the email was nothing but link bait. I'd say it was the guy from SEONoobs who was trying to be controversial, rather than Shoe. All Shoe did was finally release some pressure that is no doubt constantly built due to people who send him crap one liner emails like that in question here. He certainly wasn't saying the title tag isn't important. He was just saying there are far more important ways he can generate traffic. At least I think that's what he was trying to say. :)
I never sent any emails, or offered any services. I never claimed to be better than, or more knowledgeable than anyone.
I provided a clear cut, PROVEN, tip to my readers (who are all new to SEO), and I had the balls to call out some of the bigger bloggers as examples.
You see, I used to be within the top 50 with my former blog, and I know a thing or two about generating interest. I never attacked anyone, or went out of line. If I'm so "insignificant", then people simply could have ignored me and moved on, right?
Overall, I still think (and many agree) that all I did was offer simple advice to my readers, and it started a massive flaming session over on Shoemoneys blog. What do you expect? It usually gets like that when SEO is mentioned, and especially by an A-list blogger.
I think Shoemoney was a little cranky that day, and instead of directly ripping me up (for no reason), he aimed towards the entire SEO industry.
Hey - that's what blogging is all about, right?
Brendon - thanks for the link, I really appreciate your support, my friend!!!
