My daughter and son-in-law took their kids to see him speak in Madison Wisconsin the day that he won the primaries in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Wisconsin. The following week, our seven year old grandson asked his dad to take him along to the polls so he could see how it worked, in the morning before school , with temperatures well below freezing.

The last politician in America whose public speaking skills and charisma aroused this much interest in a primary season was John F. Kennedy in 1960, when I was about the same age as my grandson is now.

This year, I voted for the first time ever in a primary... and I voted for Obama.

I hope American can somehow make up for the last seven years. No matter who wins in our election, it won't be George Bush.
