As an American, I can say that this is a sad-but-true commentary on youth in America. I know the area of Florida where they live. It's an upper-middle class to upper class income neighborhood. I suspect that these are spoiled rich kids that never had to earn a dollar in their lives. If someone won't give it to them, they'll just take it.
I hope the kids are nicer and better in Australia.

It's this entitlement generation. They really don't care about anything or anybody except themselves.
A night in jail may cure these two.
It seems pretty easy - there are no consequences for that sort of behaviour.
So the behaviour gets repeated and escalates.
Then I guess there is the peer influence - they'll be heroes to their friends for getting on TV and creating a stir.
"Where are these kids parents?"
Today's society would leave those parents with little to do except maybe take away their cellphone for a month. How do you discipline children these days without having a call to child services or something. I for one rember getting wacked anytime I did something wrong.
Perhaps people with these sort of attitudes have always been around. Just now we hear from them??
