I Get It, I Get It!!

I've never really got Twitter.

But I've just started Plurking and I think I get it (finally).

I'm so Web 2.0!

Cheers.

Brendon

P.S: Follow me on Plurk.

Everybody in the blogosphere is talking about Plurk and Plurking and Plurkites today.

I get Twitter (and I've been using it for a long time), but Plurk just looks confusing.

This might be interesting for ya. Twitter in Plain English. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddO9idmax0o

I'll stick to Twitter. It's less confusing on my tiny Pom brain. :-)
Thanks Jamie

Now I 'get' it, I might check out Twitter again.

No disgrace being a Pom with a small brain - not like you're on your Pat Malone with that double!

Just jokes mate, just jokes!!

Hope you are well.

Cheers

Brendon
Sorry. I still don't get it.

So, people use twitter to keep the world updated on the minutia of what they're doing throughout the day? They spend time updating this as the day goes on? Sounds to me like they've more time on their hands than sense!
"Real life happens between blog posts and emails" according to the video. No shi7 sherlock. But to me it seems that less and less real life is happening to some people as distractions such as twitter and blog posting take a grip!

I mean, I really enjoy Brendon's blog. But do I have time, inclination or interest in knowing that he's currently got his feet up and wiping his nose? No offence Brendon, but no thanks.

Perhaps I'm wrong. Perhaps i REALLY don't get it!
Howdy Seamus

I think I get it in the sense of I know who would be interested.
Not everyone can Twitter or Plurk or whatever.

But some people can do it to good effect some of the time.

You're right Seamus, I'm as about interesting as watching paint dry.

But, Cameron in the storry below this one (http://www.tailored.com.au/2008/06/tapping-out-different-beat.htm)
would be a good candidate to Plurk whilst he travels to the States to sing his song.

That whole trip would be interesting to his fan base for a whole range of reasons - he could add photos, video, comments etc as he goes.

I can see that would work just great for that trip.

But once he's back into his domestic life then it wouldn't be as effective anymore.

Whadda think?
Ok. I'll accept that one as an application of the concept. The traveller might want a quick and easy way to update people back home or wherever.

Perhaps my time management skills aren't the greatest, but the main points of my response was... who has the time to be constantly updating a twitter?

And what real value comes from publishing such information?

Do others really get a benefit from the updates or is it that the twits are full of a sense of self importance?

Present company excluded of course!
;-)

BTW - Don't be too hard on yourself, you do have some very interesting inspired and inspiring moments of genius. And you really are a nice guy too! ;-)
