The Artist Is Stripped Bare
I've written about the artist Banksy before:
hereand here.
Well, it seems he has
finally been unmasked.
As the article says, his "fiercely guarded identity only adds to his subversive appeal".
Now everyone knows who he is, will his marketability drop?
I reckon it will. Being unknown was all aprt of the story. The story loses a bit of its shine now.
Cheers
Brendon

At best, without any confirmation from those who know him, this is just speculation.
When I first read the story over the weekend I left the story thinking "Maybe. But we don't know for sure and we'll probably never know." I didn't go away thinking "Wow. That is certainly Banksy."
His art is still incredibly good. I don't think another newspaper speculating from some supposed research in Jamaica will take away from his marketability.
As far as I'm concerned, he's still unknown. If the media really believed this was a confirmed story, it would have been much bigger than it was.
I think. :-)
Or maybe I just want to believe this isn't him for the sake of keeping him unknown and exciting. :-)
