A Small World – Watch Out For Jules

by Brendon Sinclair on November 12, 2007

A welcome visitor to the offices today was SitePoint General Manager Luke Cuthbertson.

Not because he came bearing a carton of Coronas (!), but because he’s a nice fellow.

(Okay, we both know it was because of the Coronas!)

Anyhow, we got chatting and I happened to mention the great bike mapping web site Bikely.

Bikely Was Developed By Jules

Turns out that Bikely was developed by the brilliant Jules Schmidt, who worked at SitePoint when I was writing my book (SitePoint are the publishers).

Jules left to develop Bikely.

Bikely is the site I use pretty extensively and the site we used last year on the Sydney to Surfers bike ride to help riders take a ‘look’ at the course beforehand.

I didn’t even know that Bikely was an Australian site, let alone that Jules had developed it. And now it’s not after Jules sold it to the UK based Bike Radar.

Keep on eye out for Jules – he’s a brilliant developer who will no doubt pop up again with something equally as clever shortly.

Cheers

Brendon
