Best Book List - My Top 14 Business Books
One question Jo here in the office asked was "Why an odd number like 14?"!
Simple really. 13 is unlucky. And there is a 15th book but I just can't find it or remember it's name. When I do I'll add it to the list!
Here's the final 4:
One thing I've become very aware of as a marketing consultant is that more and more people are understanding what a brand is - even to the extent that they see themselves, and others, as a brand. Which is absolutely true.
As a businessperson, if you can understand yourself as a brand your business and life will benefit. No question about it. Everything I do on this web site affects the web site as a brand and me as a brand. Every word I write needs to be consistent with how I want my 'brand' perceived.
In this ground-breaking book, David and Karl define branding beautifully and show you how to build a strong personal brand. In-depth and substantial, this book is a critical read for those looking to succed in the 21st century.
I'm perceived by quite a few people as an expert in marketing and web businesses. I've implemented numerous startegies to help that view - from writing a book, newsletters, articles, public speakers, doing media interviews, having a half-decent web site, keeping up a media profile, etc.
I only wish I'd read "Become A Recognized Authority In your Field In 60 Days Or Less!" before I started out - would have made things a whole lot easier! In this book Robert shows you the simple steps to establish your credibility in your field and become recognised as the leading authority.
Robert is a fun writer to read as he provides a plethora of tips and ideas to help you succeed. A terrific and enjoyable read.
Harry is a veteran of marketing over many years and in this book delivers on providing a no-nonsense guide to selling services.
Harry's strength is his ability to explain the good sense behind his practice of tossing conventional marketing wisdom aside in his quest for doing something different.
"The Invisible Touch" is highly recommended for everyone, but particularly so if you sell a service.
And the luck last is.............
When I first saw this book I thought "Wow!" It must be good because it took 3 people to write. And good it is.
Brilliant insights into the wave of buzz, along with detailed case studies. Inspiring stuff for those looking to create a difference in their business.
An expert book written by experts for the not so expert. Understand the power of buzz and your business can explode.
The End
I hope you've enjoyed the review of my top 14 business books of all time. It's taken me some 20 years of reading to come up with the list and, boy, am I tired!
Cheers.
