Here on the Gold Coast, Australia surf life saving clubs are a big part of the local life.
Kids join at a young age and learn surf swimming skills and progress through to being sully fledged surf life savers, patrolling the beaches in the summer to help swimmers who get into trouble.
There are clubs every few kilometres along this part of the Coast.
These clubs have loads of competitions on a very regular basis – swimming, board races, surf boat races and more.
Prizemoney is offered to professional competitors and the best can make a nice living at these competitions.
It’s a highly competitive sport.
One of the local clubs – Currumbin Surf Life Saving Club – recently won an Australian surf boat race title.
That was good.
The Bad News – Steroids Test Positive
The bad news was that one of the crewman rowing the boat was found to be a drug cheat: Peter Atkins was banned for two years for returning a positive doping test to the steroid Stanozolol.
Here’s where I reckon it gets interesting.
The Club President pays the usual lip service to the issue: “We are working hard to try and build a strong culture within the club and our focus will not change due to (the doping incident),” he said.
Then Atkins comes out in an open letter and denies knowing the substance was on the list of banned stuff.
He goes on to say “I specifically acknowledge the Currumbin Barbarians surf boat crew who have achieved their success based on hard work and determination.”
Ummm, no they didn’t Peter.
They achieved their results partly based on you using substances you shouldn’t have been using.
Will The Title be Stripped From Them
Currumbin SLSC are waiting to see if the title will be stripped from them because of Peter using the banned steroid.
Fellas, here’s a quick heads up on what you should have done as your course of action – but first we’ll look at the facts.
1. Your surf boat crew won the Australian championship
2. One of the crew was found to be using banned steroids and outed as a drug cheat.
All the denials, all the claims of confusion, all the cries of “I didn’t know” don’t matter.
# 1 and 2 are the only relevant facts.
The Currumbin SLSC Club President’s response should have been:
“We are working hard to try and build a strong culture within the club and our focus will not change due to (the doping incident).
In recognition that one of the crew was found to be using a banned substance we, of course, forfeit the title and would ask the governing body to present it to the winning crew.
We have erased all mention of the win from our Honour Board and apologise that our Club has bought the sport into disrepute.”
Crisis Management 101
- Acknowledge the issue.
- Take steps to make things right.
You won a title with the help of a banned substance.
Don’t even think of keeping that title.
Why are you even waiting to see if the title should be taking from you?
Of bloody course it shouldn’t be – you should have already given it back.
Cheers
Brendon

You are so, so “on target” here, my friend. Our society (in both our countries, and others) today seems obsessed with the idea that taking responsibility is an outdated concept.
It’s sad … one might even use the term disgusting if s/he were outspoken like me.
When you make an error, you have to acknowledge it. When you are the captain of a team or some other position of trust and responsibility and one of your underlings screws up, you screwed up too … you enjoyed the perqs and position when things were going well, when the situation turns around, you have to accept those consequences as well.
Remember at the beginning of this year the miraculous forced landing of the airliner in the Hudson River in New York?
Just recently I watched a show that made it seem remarkable and beyond belief that the captain of that aircraft was the last person off, after making his way twice through the rapidly flooding cabin to make _sure_ he _was_ the last one off.
Brave? Without question. But “Marvelous”? Not in my book. It was nothing less than his responsibility, and I would have expected nothing less … being the captain doesn’t just mean wearing a fancy hat and having people call you sir.
Love your work! Of course they should lose the title/trophy… I followed your link to read the article and I was totally gob-smacked!!! I was at least expecting a real Bronzed Aussie, good looking and buffed (ok, hoping for a perv.) What a disappointment; He is not the face of Surf Lifesaving I was expecting. If this is what he wants to do, he should at least take some that work. As far as taking responsibility, if he were the type, he wouldn’t be in this mess; This is irresponsible behaviour and not what I want my children to be looking up to.
Who he fuck is Brendon Sinclair and what does he know about the rules of ASADA having regard to the suspension of athletes banned for taking banned substances. Whatever the outcome of this case, it appears that SLSA & Currumbin Surf Club have conformed with the rules of the drug governing body. How many criminals acquitted on a legal technicality have turned around and said, “Yes I did kill that person please execute me” Answer, None.
Hi Greg,
Just happened upon an excellent AusBC show on teen age surf rescuers from several areas in Australia. Right impressed I was, as a Yank, because at 14 or 15 most of my fellow American parents are still treating teens as if they were just out of their high chair. What, give a 15 yo a job with responsibility … and with more than a modicum of danger … and teach them to give something of themselves rather than figure out how to get more dole from the government? Cool.
As I said, Right impressed I was until I ran into your foul mouth and your woeful inability to understand the printed word.
And you are an official in these groups who ask parents to trust their teens to you? Thanks but no thanks. Your remarks and attitude simply ads a lot of weight to Brendon’s suggestion that focusing on responsibility and the morality of an issue might just be more important than whatever cheap trophies you can nail to the wall of your favorite pub.
Geez Greg, why don’t you really start it off aggressive!
Cause I reckon that will really help aid the positive positioning of the SLSC you’re associated with.
Apart from being rude and obnoxious, you also appear to completely ignore my point.
The point is this: I know very well the SLSA and Currumbin SLSC have adhered to the letter of the law in dealing with drug cheats.
I was also pointing out that there may be significant benefit in moving forward will alternate strategies as a way to recognise and address the very significant negative impact this positive drug test has on the sport and the integrity of the SLSC.
Not sure the basis of the irrelevant and unrelated reference to a murderer confessing??
Another thing the Currumbin SLSC might need to consider is also giving social media training to ensure dickheads don’t make inappropriate, aggressive and pointless posts in the public forum.
Just a thought.
Cheers
And I’m Brendon Sinclair
Ah Greg Davies. former secretary of the ASRL (Australian Surf Rowers League) and current surf boat racing official.
Nice to hear more of the usual from Greg. Articulate, intelligent, and always highly relevant!!!
And i forgot to mention slightly amusing.
Nothing but an embarrasment to the organisation he represents as well as the many other volunteer officials and competitors!
Are you sure he was/is all that daffy?
If he held any sort of official capacity or active role in the sport you’d expect him to have an understanding of issues and an ability to articulate his position effectively.
Just seems like a buffoon whose main strategy is abuse mixed with irrelevant comment.
This ‘greg davies’ wouldn’t really be a person associated with the sport with its best interests at the centre of his motivation??
Cheers
THE Brendon Sinclair
Greg is an embarrassment to our sport. I recall that he was asked to resign as secretary from the ASRL 2 seasons ago…. what were the reasons behind this Greg? Your support of a drug cheat speaks alot for your personal views and does not represent the view of anyone from the ASRL or surf boat rowing in general. I think it is timely you stood aside as an official. I would guess 99% of people in the surf boat community agree 100% with Brendan’s comments.
Greg.
Silly boy.
You, Stephen and Derek invented alias`s on the ASRL Website some years ago when trying to discredit Members who threatened your perceived power.
Shame you didn`t use an alias`s in this instant.
There`s an old saying, “you sleep with dogs, you get fleas”.
In your case, when trying to defend DRUG CHEATS (plural).
You`ve made your bed, faaaaarking lie in it.
How appropriate.
Regards.
Peter.
True Champions start off with ability, train hard and compete within the rules. Two out of three is not good enough.
The Barbarians should hand the medals back and apologise to their peers for the delay. It doesn’t even matter whether or not they were aware of the situation at the time they crossed the line first.
The problem was not so much the offence, which could have an explanation, however tenuous, but the response when the facts came out.
It is sad to see a crew who have achieved so much lacking the will to say “we were competing outside the rules and do not deserve the medal this year.” That is what true Champions would do.
Competing whilst taking banned “performance enhancing” steriods was bad enough. But people make mistakes, plenty have done so in the past, and that is why we have rules and penalties that society applies to them when they are caught out. This whole thing, handled appropriately, could have become a relatively minor incident, with all those involved conceding their mistakes, a lesson/example being provided for young athletes, and sporting associations earning respect for their ethical application of rules.
But what makes this situation so much worse is the excuses and sad attempts at justification that have been, and continue to be trotted out by Mr. Atkins, his crew mates, the Currumbin Surf Club, and even an official associated the Australian League of Rowers, Mr. Greg Davies.
Since Mr. Atkins submitted his “explanation” to the Gold Coast Bulletin, pleading ignorance involving a prescription given by a “doctor” and attempting to blame the SLSA for his predicament, it seems most people in the sport have formed the opinion that his “explanation” was clearly rubbish. Are we to believe a doctor in this day and age prescribed “stanozolol” to an athlete in the middle of his competition season????
That the provider of the steroids was in fact his brother, and that he took them knowingly, was claimed several months ago, but is something the athlete and his crewmates seem unwilling to respond to. The name of the alleged “doctor” was requested on another chat forum with no response. The athlete was only too willing to put details in the public forum asserting his innocence, but unwilling to respond to questions about the logic of it all.
This has been out there for some months now. BUT, armed with this knowledge, we find his crew/club ignoring it, and still fighting to hang onto their medals, and organisations and people (Currumbin Surf Club, Australian League of Rowers, Mr. Davies, the crew themselves) defending him. The Queensland League of Rowers has in fact just last week selected the crew to represent Queensland in an upcoming interstate event. That in itself is disgraceful.
Like I said, his first offence (taking the drug) was bad enough. But the dishonesty and inappropriate responses by those around him as well as those in authority is even worse.
Daffy/Richard.
Your views are well said.
On this subject, how ironic is it that the ASRL hierachy only recently suspended and subsequently banned the Lorne Open Mens Crew who won their ASRL Open because they used an alleged illegal “5th” rower after a sudden illness in their initially selected Crew.
The ASRL demanded that the Lorne Crew hand back their Gold Medals.
This was refused, hence they were subsequently banned for a number of years by the ASRL..
What is the more serious offence ?.
An individual in the Currumbin Open Mens Crew being caught out using Steroids, or, the Lorne Open Mens Crew rowing a “5th” rower due to a sudden illness ?.
The ASRL and their Members need to show these DRUG CHEATS, that their peers will not tolerate their actions in trying to keep their Gold Medals.
There should be ZERO tolerance to DRUGS in our Sport of Surfboats.
For the ASRLQ to now reward these DRUG CHEATS with selection in their 2010 ASRL Interstate Challenge Seies State Team is an insult to not only their own Queensland Members, but also to every “boatie” in Australia.
The ASRL should REFUSE the ASRLQ nomination of the Currumbin Open Mens to compete in their ASRL Interstate Challenge Series Event, inclusive of their nomination to compete in the ASRL 2010 Open.
This action must be taken, in support of their Members views.
The Federal ASRL and their State aligned Associations/Bodies should also seriously look at aligning themselves with Rowing Australia`s interpretation of the Rules and Regulations regarding drugs in their Sport of stillwater rowing, and that is having a ZERO tolerance to DRUG CHEATS.
Regards.
Peter.
There are some lovely blokes & girls rowing surfboats. Some like a drink, the gas, a joint and the pingers. All party drugs that inhibit performance.
A banned steroid, don’t think so. That’s blatant cheating.
Did this young boy of Atkins identify his Doctor or did he decline the offer? That has a lot to do with the argument put forward by him. Why hasn’t his doctor put out a statement???
There are no winners here.
Why hasn’t the surf rowers union, the asrl, put out statement on their stance on performance enhancing drugs. Their leadership seems to be week if they are sitting on their hands.
Squirrel.
Don`t hold your breath waiting for “Bert Gibbons” and “Alan Hunt” to make a statement on behalf of their Members on this subject.
They are both off and rowing in the George Bass Surfboat Marathon for the next week and are participating in legal drugs, such as drinking alcohol and smoking around a bonfire.
When they get back, hopefully this matter could be an Agenda Item at their next ASRL Committee Meeting in recommending suspending the Currumbin Barbituates Open Mens Crew from State and Federal ASRL Events until they hand back their tainted “Gold Medals” to the rightful winners, North Cottesloe.
Oh., I nearly forgot.
Squirrel, don`t forget to swim between the flags.
Regards.
Peter Piper.
I cannot believe that the currumbin team have been selected to represent Qld. Jesus H Christ, this is a joke.
This is a farce.
The associates of the drug cheats should be asked to give their medals back. Do they have no morals??
Guys.
I`ve just read a posting on the ASRL Website from one of the elected representaives on the ASRL Committee.
He`s just outed himself and done a “Shane Warne” ……… can`t Sweep, can`t put sentences together, can`t spell, doesn`t make sense and definitely should NOT be on the Committee of the ASRL representing his peers.
Heaven help the Members of Surf Life Saving, if this is the type of mentality that exists on this Committee.
If it`s good enough for the ASRL hierachy to BAN the Lorne Open Mens Crew for a minor misdemeanour a couple of years ago, surely they can refuse the Currumbin Barbituates Open Mens Crew ASRLQ 2010 State Team nomination and their entries to compete in OUR ASRL 2010 Open in a couple of months time.
The ASRL have already set a precident before in circumstances that was a lot less serious “offence” than what currently exists.
The Currumbin Mens Open Crew (PLURAL) have brought our great Sport of Surfboats into disrepute.
It is that simple.
The more they kick and squeal in having to be forced to give back their tainted Gold Medals, the greater embarrasement they are to Surf Life Saving generally, to their peers and to the Currumbin SLSC..
Great role models, I think NOT.
The bottom line is, that EVERYONE expected better from them.
Peter.
Greg Davies views/comments are personal and are NOT a representation of Victorian Surf Boat Rowers or the VSRL.
It is a shame what has happened over the past 9months, but i guess like most sports we are not free from these types of activities, and we would be foolish to believe this is the first instance and even more so to believe that it will be the last.
Hopefully strong enought actions will deter others from the same mistake
J-Crew know they are the champions, as everyone else in the country, with or without the medal
Congratulations to 4 in a row boys…
The attached formal complaint sent Sat. 2nd. January, 2010 to the relevant Surf Life Saving stakeholders.
Secretary
Currumbin SLSC..
Subject : Currumbin SLSC Open Mens 2009 Surfboat Crew.
Dear Sir.
Re the above subject.
As a current long term Surf Life Saving Member, “boatie” and Sponsor of Surf Life Saving since 1965, I am absolutely disgusted with your Clubs Open Mens 2009 Surfboat Crew regarding their current stance and inability to accept responsibility for the fall out regarding their actions after one of their Crew tested positive to using Steroids at the recent 2009 SLSAustralian Championships in Perth.
Peter Aitken, the rower in question admitted that he had been using Steroids since early 2009.
His actions and admittance of guilt, should include handing back their 2009 SLSQueenland State Championship 3rd. placing Medals as well.
In the circumstances, for them to now have the hide to force SLSAustralia into having to defend themselves from DQing them is a insult to everyones intellegence.
They should aim up, hand back their “Gold Medals” and then make a public APOLOGY for their actions.
Until this course of action is implimented, the Crew should be suspended immediately from ALL Competition until further notice.
For the Currumbin Surf Club to publically defend these individuals is also a disgrace and a blight on the Surf Life Saving movement.
I, and my Family personally know their Sweep, Lyle Clarke and we are all deeply saddened and in shock, that he has not personally done the right thing.
Are these blokes role models ?.
Absolutely not.
They are an embarrasement to not only themselves, but inclusive to the Surf Life Saving movement, Currumbin SLSC and their peers.

Amazing.
The ASRL Committee have now directed the Webmaster to lock off this subject on their ASRL Website regarding further debate on this topic until they get back from holidays, andthe George Bass Marathon next week ?.
Gee guys, you have had four to five months information and knowledge of this subject to make up your minds to respond or issue a statement on behalf of your ASRL Members.
It now appears that todays events have been as a direct consequence, forced on them after nearly 19,000 numerous inquiry “hits”, comments and postings on their Website since this topic of debate was posted by one of their Members.
The Surfboat fraternity should unite and make it crystal clear to the Currumbin SLSC and their 2009 Open Mens Surfboat Crew that the Surf Life Saving movement will not tolerate their ongoing undesirable actions in trying to retain their tainted “Medals”.
Until they cease court action against SLSAustralia, hand back their “Medals” and apologize for their actions, they should be withdrawn immediately from Competition by the Currumbin SLSC..
In the circumstances, for the ASRLQ to select this Crew in their Team for the 2010 ASRL Interstate Challenge Series makes this whole sorry state of affairs even more disturbing.
The ASRL should refuse their ASRLQ State Team nomination and application to compete until further notice.
Regards.
Peter.
Prior to the ASRL locking this topic on their site, a committee member posted a comment stating something along the lines of this being an SLSA issue – nothing to do with the ASRL.
Wrong.
The ASRL is a sporting organisation that collects membership fees from athletes and conducts their own events. Now some of the ASRL’s members have admitted to competing in those ASRL events only last season, whilst using banned performance enhancing steroids.
This is not just about a Gold Medal won at an Australian National Championships. It appears that this crew competed for the better part of half of last season (that we now know of) whilst using these drugs. In that time they also won a bronze medal at the QLD State Titles, and numerous other placings in lead up events all of which were run and controlled by ASRL – QLD.
Now after knowing for some 5 months that some of their members competed in their events whilst using banned drugs, the ASRL QLD has taken no action whatsoever. They have not even made a statement on the issue of any kind to either their members, or the public. On top of that, the ASRL QLD has selected the same boat crew to represent Queensland in an upcoming interstate event.
Then the National body, the ASRL, has accepted those entries from ASRL – QLD for this crew into that event. They too have failed to act in way, other than to stick their head in the sand and say it’s nothing to do with them.
Not good enough. Your members and the general public expect better from people who have nominated themselves for, and then been elected to a position of responsibility.
So the ASRL (via President Bert Hunt) has finally made a statement on the matter. Not a public statement mind you, just an email sent to a few select ASRL members who voiced their concerns on the ASRL’s handling of this. The inaccuracy, vagueness, and total lack of basis to his response I find appalling.
Some quotes from the President of this sporting body: -
“The key bottom line is that 4 members of this crew have not been accused of anything, what we may feel on the morality or correctness of the crew hanging onto medals on this issue is another matter”.
Yes Bert they have been accused of something. Maybe you haven’t been listening, but they’ve been accused of breaking some very clear rules regard their conduct as sportsmen. And the morality of them now hanging onto their medals, both QLD State and Australian Title medals, is not “another matter”; it is THE matter.
“The crew has 2 new rowers so for us to start talking about bans on the crew is neither legal nor correct because we would be penalising 2 rowers who have just joined the crew and leaving ourselves open to claims of defamation because these remaining 3 members haven’t been accoused (sic) or found guilty of anything”.
No Bert the crew doesn’t have 2 new rowers. It has one new rower (to replace the one who failed the drug test). For you, and the ASRL committee to be wrong on such basic facts is concerning.
The ASRL cannot seriously be concerned about defamation, when they are simply being expected by their members to take action against other members who have been found to have competed in ASRL events only last season, whilst using banned steroids. This is a very poor cop out.
For the ASRL to now suggest that 4 athletes who breached very clear rules last season avoid penalty by subsequently aligning themselves with 1 new athlete who didn’t, is ludicrous.
“Sometimes we need to accept that something isn’t correct and move on”.
This last statement really needs no response. It is simply pathetic.
The irony of this situation must be quite a unique feeling for you Daffy, sorry is that Peter Piper, nah it must just be Beaver.
So after demanding that firstly the QASRL do something against this crew, then also demanding that the ASRL do something, this crew enters and competes at your NSWASRL event and you allow them to do so after all of your chest beating above demanding everyone else to sanction them but you don’t even attempt to do so yourself at your organisations event.
But on top of all of this the crew then has the gall to win your event.
So how did it feel to present this crew with the gold medals you paid for?
Did you have the guts to say to their faces what you have been saying by email and sending all around the country?
“Penelopy”.
I have had the guts from day one to say it in print in writing under my name on my Birth Certificate to the Currumbin SLSC and to them.
What is your point ?.
The NSWASRL Open is run by Manly LSC for the aussieBum NSWASRL Inc..
The NSWASRL Inc. do not run their own Events in NSW unlike the Federal ASRL and the ASRLQ..
The guys were quite welcome to enjoy our hospitality and receive their NSWASRL Gold Medals and drink our piss back at the North Steyne SLSC..
It was great for this Crew to travel to Sydney for a hit out.
The ASRL Interstate, ASRL Open and ASRLQ Events are run by Members for their Members benefits.
The sad part about this whole sorry saga is the following scenario`s.
1. If the Currumbin Ba Ba`s handed back their tainted Gold Medals to the rightfull winners North Cottesloe and they WON legally this season their peers will CHEER them.
Or.
2. If they keep fighting to retain their tainted Gold Medals and they WON legally this season their peers will BOO them.
Being a former LEGAL dual winner of a Aussie Gold Medal, I`d 100% know what option I would want.
Anyway the “horse whispers” are getting louder by the day, that a decision has already been decided.
Regards.
Steve Reilly.
Yes Penelopy, what is your point – if you have one??
If anyone has been prepared to put their name behind their opinions, it’s clearly been Steve Reilly. Unlike you, he has not hidden behind his keyboard.
If you think Steve had the power to prevent the Currumbin “Stockland” crew from competing this last weekend, your sadly misguided.
And what on earth does the fact that this crew has now won a carnival this season have to do with either Steve, or the whole drugs in sport issue anyway. Are you suggesting Steve is at fault somehow as a result of rules that this crew broke? Or are you suggesting that this crew again used drugs to obtain a winning result? You certainly have not conveyed any clear message within your post.
It appears that maybe both you and the Currumbin boat crew fail to appreciate the seriousness of the drug problem in sport??
As Steve said, the sad part now seems to be this crew’s inability to grasp the simple concept that it would appear about 99.9% of other people are able to grasp very easily. That is, they broke the rules, they’re not winners.
Continuing to pretend they are winners is not only embarrassing for them personally, but it’s very embarrassing for the Currumbin Surf Club, their sponsors Stockland, the sport of Surf Boat Rowing, and the entire Surf Life Saving Association.
It is also very much an insult to all “honest” surfboat competitors, particularly those that were unfortunate enough to have been part of any open surfboat event last season in which this crew participated whilst using those illegal drugs (which it appears happened on more than a few occasions).
It seems that whilst these Currumbin guys, and the Currumbin Surf Club were well prepared and so enthusiastic to share in the glory of winning “as a team”, prior to being caught, they all lack the ability after being caught, to acknowledge their mistake “as a team”, offer any apology to their fellow competitors, their officials, sponsors, the association, or the public. They have not even made so much as a statement confirming they condemn the use of drugs in sport. One of them actually made a public statement blaming Surf Lifesaving!!
I imagine Steve is right in saying there were only boo’s when this crew won on the weekend. There is no respect amongst their peers. For you to now assert that somebody else other than Currumbin is at fault here is quite silly really.
Steve “Daffy” Cadden.
PS :
Guys.
What I meant regarding Option 1 and 2 in my above posting involved the Aussie Championships at Kurrawa in 2010, not on the weekend.
On Sat. the Currumbin Open Mens Crew showed to all and sundry, what their ability is without the advantage of drugs within the Crew.
The sad part of this whole sorry unpleasant episode is that when Whale Beach beat Currumbin Ba Ba`s on Sunday in the Freshie “Dash for Cash” by a bees dick, and when the result was announced, their peers did in fact cheer their loss.
Geeeeeeezzzzzzuuuuus, I thought The Beaver`s hard earnt $1,000 Sponsorship monies was to go to “them” I thought at the time.
The “cheers” happened again a second occasion later that morning, when the Crew “rolled” over going out to sea in a repercharge.
The only other occasion I have ever witnessed this type of behaviour towards a fellow “boatie”, was during the late 1960`s involving Warren Molloy and his Open Mens Crews from Queenscliff, alias “Poofters Ridge”.
The above events unfolding are for real, not imaginable involving their peers and “boatie” mates of this Crew.
This is the sad reality of their ongoing actions in trying to retain their forever tainted Gold Medals that morally belong to North Cottesloe.
Regards.
Steve.
Wow Penelopy…i think your comment comes accross as being very childish. You seem to be having a snipe at somone who has expressed their opinion on this serious issue, but with no substance to what you are saying.
Do you support the use of drugs in sport?
Do you support this crew who used them?
Be interested to hear your response.
Honestly, Currumbin Barbars are a disgrace to our sport. I have heard that they still have Peter Atkins sweep them for training sessions. Isn’t he banned by SLSA? Not a good look having the open men champions being swept by a banned drug cheat. Unfortunaelty, by winning any carnival this season will not prove that the drugs did not give them an advantage last season. It may be a good motivation for their crew this season but what happened last year will be a case of mud sticks and North Cott are the real champions in every ones mind whether it is put on the record books or not.
Nick,
What the?? Surely this is not true?? This guy is supposed to have been banned from all sport for 2 years for using a banned steriod in competition. Could Currumbin Surf Club really still have him involved in the club’s training sessions?
If this is true then it confirms what I have suspected since this sad episode began….the surf life saving movement really does think the use of drugs in sport is OK. The SLSA and Currumbin Surf Club just dont seem to get it.
what ever happened to the zero tolerance that most sporting bodies seem to embrace, and most athletes expect?
