Google Ranks Us As The World's Best Web Designer

On May 11, 2005 I wrote an article on the web site titled “World's best web designer - Brendon Sinclair”.

I wrote it after seeing a web site say they are ranked no.1 by top search engines for the term "Internet Marketing Coach". While that sounds very impressive, all it means is the site comes up # 1 for the term "internet marketing coach" - of course Google (and others) doesn't and can't make judgements about who is the best in their particular field. That's ridiculous.

But some companies attempt to play with words and make it sound like they are the best in the world. When in fact they aren't.

Am I really the world’s best webdesigner?

So, am I really the world's number 1 ranked web designer? Nope, of course not. That's a very subjective thing.

Does my article get the # 1 spot when someone searches for the term "world’s best webdesigner" on Google.com.au? Yep. So that means I seem to know what I'm doing when it comes to search engine rankings.

The best part of all that is it demonstrated that I know a bit about how to get high search engine rankings – which was the aim of the article.

Which brings me to the main point of this article – the best indicator of future performance is past performance. When you’re assessing someone to do your marketing, your media, your web development, etc take time to review their past achievements, testimonials, awards, qualifications and results.

Because they will give you the best indication of the results you’ll receive.
