Creeping into the Gardens around Dr. Cherry,s Home, Circuses adjacent to the Footy grounds,Playing Robin Hood along the Long stretches of Gardiners creek, footy on saturday afternoons at the local and never Forgetting those bottles Of ice cold Flavoured milk[Caramel was my flavour of choice] . paper rounds and helping Mousey Jack the milkman kept us in alittle cash and free milk for mum. The same thing happened to me, smahed bottle and all! Back in the early 70's living in Glen Iris, Melbourne, Australia. Once a week, after school around 3:30pm we'd go down to the local milk bar, get a pint of milk out of the fridge and ask the owner's daughter to chuck the cottees in. Boy how I miss those bottles, foil lids and cream... my kids today get theirs premixed with ultra-pastuerised milk in waxy cardboard tetrapaks. They enjoy it... but it just isn't the same.
