Greetings! Hello and welcome to the February edition of Tailored News. This is the first edition for 2006 so I'd like to say Happy New Year and thanks for subscribing. We're having fun already - Tina is our newest employee. Tina's taking care of our online video and audio. Oooops, then there is Laura. Laura is our weekend cleaner and got the job after kissing up to the bosses here. It's a clear cut case of nepotism at its best (or worst depending on what way you look at it!). So read on as we meet Tina, take a look at the why's of our first video and take a look at some Bits 'n' Pieces Brendon Sinclair
Wow! Check out the first Tailored online video by clicking here. I won't go into the technical side of things other than to say we've chosen Flash 7 as our delivery mode for a whole range of reasons related to player penetration (more people have the player for Flash 7 than any other), ease of use (no downloads required usually) and a solid quality delivery. As I've mentioned in the previous newsletter, to the media, in our online radio show and every opportunity I can, the use of video online is going to be huge. We've invested heavily in a range of resources to ensure quality delivery of both video and audio online - from conceiving ideas through to scripting through to shooting through to editing through to uploading (and there's lots more in between). If we can help you business with online video or a podcast, then please contact us at Tailored: av@tailored.com.au or on 07 5598 4898 (Int: 61 7 5598 4898).
Tina is the newest team member here at Tailored. Below you'll find her full profile. If you'd like to match up a voice with her face head on over to TailoredPodcast.com for more.
I work for Tailored Consulting, making web videos and podcasts, as well as a bit of web development. I work in this field this because I think the way that people use the web for information and entertainment is really interesting - it is completely interactive and so accessible that almost anyone can post up any opinion on any topic. I live like a gypsy - my time is spent in both Toowoomba and the Gold Coast, but I enjoy the travel. I think I was a gypsy in a past life anyway and I've just carried on from there. My favourite thing to do is spending time with my gorgeous boyfriend Shaun. ...to watch on TV is the Simpsons and the Iron Chef. It makes me laugh when people take themsleves too seriously. My favourite restaurant is well there are so many but the best meal I have ever eaten was in a French restaurant in Cairns - I had escargot, a Tassie salmon steak and creme brulee (my favourite dessert!) My earliest childhood memory probably my Dad saving my liitle sister Melissa from drowning in a swimming pool in Papua New Guinea. I would have been about 3 or 4 and I just remember him being very wet and very worried. But Mel turned out ok. My 'proudest of myself' moment so far is probably saving up to go to Europe and travelling around Europe mostly by myself for 6 weeks. My first job was working in my parents business (managing holiday apartments) doing check- ins and check-outs. A turning point in my life well I don't think I really have one because I haven't developed a path from which to turn from. I'm only 22 and I don't really believe in paths. Maybe one day. My favourite place in the world the beaches of the Sunshine Coast. My one rule in life is let it flow. The best advice I ever got I have probably forgotten, and now will have to learn things the hard way. I have an overwhelming desire to test the boundaries of people and things. The person who inspires me most is - well how can I choose just one? Ghandi? Einstein? Johnny Depp? My Mum? There are so many great people, I like to think I get inspired by many people, not just one. I'm happy that I have followed my passions in life and not just taken the path most travelled. That would have been boring.
I just launched another podcast - Brendon Sinclair's Business Mix - over at TailoredPodcast.com. I'm better looking than Errol Flynn ever was - and someone who has kissed us both would know! Cool (and free) online calendar service from 30boxes.com. Worth a look. An article I wrote is featured on the Home Page of SitePoint.com - one of the world's leading resources for web developers. Check out this special post I wrote for visitors. My top 7 tips for giving a public speech. Hope they're of some use.
