  • Greetings!

Just a quick Tailored News for Friday afternoon

Google has just released 2 brilliant new tools that are so good you should be using them straight away if you have a web site.

Our Chelsea McLean interview is also done and is available online.

We finish off by asking for a link to our web site if you can (I'm trying to test something) and some things my hairdresser taught me about e-commerce.

    Have a good weekend.

2 Brilliant Free Tools From Google

Google has just released 2 brilliant tools for those of use with web sites - these tools make your search engine marketing and pay per click advertising as easy as pie.

Google Trends - a very useful tool that lets you compare the search volumes of different keywords.

Google Keyword Estimator - see what sort of volumes you can expect from Google Adwords for certain keywords (and their price) without having an Adwords account.

If you check a keyword and it estimates the number of clicks at 25 per day, remember that means you would get 25 clicks per day from Adwords advertising. If you were in the top 10 'normal' (free) listings you could expect 10 times that (maybe even more).

Free Media Advice For Your Business

    Can You Provide A Link?

As many readers will know, we do a lot of search engine optimisation work. That means we work on web sites to get them high within search engine rankings.

Some recent changes to the way the major search engines rank sites means we are on the Information War Path!

    Can You Provide A Link?

If you have your own web site we'd love to get a link to the Tailored web site.

If you can we'd appreciate you linking to this page: www.tailored.com.au/gold-coast-accommodation

And please use these words in the linking text: Gold Coast accommodation or Accommodation on the Gold Coast

Let me know if you are able to do this - we'll share the results with everyone once we see if what I think will work, works!

What My Hairdresser Taught Me About E-Commerce

I had a haircut a couple of weeks ago and got talking to my hairdresser about buying stuff online.

She told me doesn't buy online because she's scared people will steal her credit card.

I explained how safe it is buying online (it's safer than buying things at the local shop I believe) and that she had nothing to fear.

I don't think she believed me. But it's a good reminder. The # 1 reason people don't buy from web sites is because they don't trust the site.

Top 4 Tips For Increasing The Trustworthiness Of A Web Site

    • Personalise the site (start a blog, introduce your staff, add staff video)
    • Clearly display security 'badges' - like the Verisign logo
    • Educate your prospect on what happens with their credit card once the purchase is made
    • Have a quality design
