WHEN THINGS GO WRONG.....

And They Sometimes Will
A while back we created a RSS feed list for a client's site - we used a script that generated pretty icons.
The icons were hosted on the script services' web site - what we should have done was hosted the icon images ourselves.
To stop people using up their bandwidth, the company hosting the icons swapped one of the icon images with this very attractive woman to the right!
We soon got the message that we'd missed hosting the images ourselves when the above image suddenly appeared on our client's site.
Our client asked us to send him an invoice for fixing the 'bad' image and also asked us what happened.
We Told Him The Only Thing We Could
We told our client the only thing we could.
"We'd love to bill you for this but we have a funny policy (called 'guilt') that when it's our fault we don't charge you!"
Telling the client the truth isn't the best policy. It's the only policy.
When things go wrong, own up and move on. We all make mistakes. Don't compound the mistake by denying that it's a mistake.

HOW A HOTTIE HAS MADE $20,000 IN A WEEK
|
And Kept Her Top On!
Here's what you do. You get a hot girl. You get her to lip synch to a song. Video it. At the end you link to a site selling stuff mentioned/shown in the song. Stick it on YouTube.
Estimates are that this "I Got a Crush On Obama" video has generated $20,000 in T-Shirt sales this week.
It's the new product placement. Not sure what the motivation for the video originally was - maybe exposure for Obama Girl - but check out the Obama Girl site for more.
Reminds me of my all time favourite great example of how to make money with video - remember Hot Girls Answer Every Guy's Question?

HOW TO GET TO THE TOP OF GOOGLE IN 39 MINUTES
|
New Service Shows What's Hot According to Google's new Hot Trends, "miss universe pageant" was the 5th hottest search on the day I looked.
So I wrote a blog post on Tailored.com.au and mentioned "Miss Universe Pageant" a few times.
39 minutes later that blog post appeared on the 1st page of results when someone typed in "miss universe pageant" on Google. That gave me hundreds and hundreds of visitors.
Could you do that for your business? |
