What we see here at Tailored Web Services (first mention of the new name!) when we look at a web page is usually completely different to what our clients or prospects see.
Mel, who is the least computer literate in the office, explained it beautifully a few days ago when she said:
“When you (Brendon) look at a web page you analyse hundreds of different aspects including:
- colors
- balance
- font size
- copywriting
- suitability for target market
- search engine optimization
- where the important elements are positioned
- trustworthiness
- use of white space
- links on the page
- branding effectiveness and
- much, much more
When others look at a web page they see a picture. They think “That’s pretty” and like it, or don’t like it, because of the way it looks.”
Beautifully put.
Remember, your site has to work. That’s what it is there for.
Cheers.
Brendon

Excellent article. Seems to come down to whether you think of your website as a business expense, or a business investment.
Your post just made me think of another point of view – look at your website as an employee!
I wrote it up here.
